Since I didn't want to splurge so much on the cake, I was not very particular with having a huge one. As part of the package, he gave me cupcakes, satellite cakes surrounding our main cake and a mini-candy buffet setup. I was quite happy with how everything turned out. He followed my design and it matched pretty much everything at the setup.
Although, one thing I was particular about was the cake to be eaten during the cake-slicing. I specifically said it should be a light-colored cake (like banana walnut), and not chocolate. When I sliced through the cake, I was surprised it was chocolate! It was a small thing really and I think I was the only one who noticed it. So, I don't know if the message was not delivered or what. I wasn't particularly disappointed, it was okay.
The reason I was specific on the cake's color was that I did not want to eat CHOCOLATE and the smile for the camera afterwards. I mean...hello. Who wants that. Haha! I just made sure I ate a small piece and not let it touch my front teeth.
The cakes were good, at least to most of those who attended. A chef friend of mine thought the Red Velvet was a little dry. But I would not rely solely on that review as she studied culinary abroad...so...I really expected that guest to be very particular about everything food-related.
Overall, I recommend Chef Kiko for brides and couples, who, like me, want a nice cake but would not want to splurge on it.
